Tell me more about your organization
OneDay was founded as an international, a-political, social volunteering non-profit organization. OneDay’s purpose is to enable young people ages 18-35 to volunteer and take part in communal, social activities in a way that fits in with their daily schedule and requires no commitment so you can volunteer at any activity you chose. Volunteer, when you want, how you want and with whom you want. (In the near future, we will create more volunteering groups of different ages)
We publish the upcoming events in our website and our Facebook page, using Eventbrite. If you wish to join the event, you just need to click on the event registration’s link and follow the instructions. If there are spots left, you will get an E-mail with all the information about the event, if not- you will be on the waiting list. If one of the volunteers cancel his participate, you will be notify.
At this point, we operate three main centers in different areas in Israel: Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa. We will be opening Beer Sheva and branches in Europe and North America.
Every week our volunteering takes place in a different location and is of an entirely different character from the previous week. If this week, for instance, we are volunteering with the elderly, next week’s activity will be with young children, and the following week may be at an animal shelter.
On our website, under the “Events” tab and on our Facebook page.
Volunteering takes place once a week in each center. Other than that, we have social events once a month
The Volunteers are not obligated to reach any amount of hours and are free to volunteer as frequently or infrequently as they like with no strings attached. Thus, we allow maximum flexibility with both the variety of volunteering activities we offer and the non-committal hours. We are able to work with this approach thanks to the large amount of volunteers that work with us in every center.
At the end of the activities, we enable the volunteers to continue socializing as a group as we meet-up at a nearby restaurant, bar or other designated inventive location. This allows the participants to meet new people and to expand their circles of professional, cultural, academic and most importantly, socially networks.
