About OneDay Social Volunteering
We took volunteering and flipped it on its head so that people can volunteer when they want, with whom they want and how they want. Why can´t volunteering be enjoyable, sociable, be about building a community whilst impacting those in need? I joined for two reasons, to do something good and to meet other people. OneDay finally gives me the chance to really engage in the best way I see fit.
OneDay is a unique organization that offers socializing through the method of flexible and adaptable volunteering opportunities for young adults. Social Volunteering increases people’s social and professional networks with people their own age.
Founded as an international, non-political, social-volunteering non-profit organization; OneDay enables young people ages 18-35 to volunteer in a communal activity in a way that fits with their day-to-day schedule as well as their needs and preferences.
OneDay strives to strengthen and tie both the Jewish and non-Jewish communities together by working with each other for the public good and encouraging people of all circles and religions to take part in OneDay activities. Furthermore, OneDay strives to help young people develop a “social career” alongside their traditional career in the workforce.
Once a week, in every branch, an event takes place at a venue which is crowd-sourced by our volunteers. We offer a variety of activities that allow our participants an obligation-free way to volunteer.
We volunteer by helping the elderly, children, animals, people with special needs and needy families. We hold events at soup kitchens, doing activities for the benefit of the environment, urban renewals and more …
We allow maximum flexibility with both the variety of volunteering activities we offer and the non-committal hours. Following each activity is a social event that allows participants to grow their social and professional networks. These events range from grabbing a bite at a local restaurant, drinks at the newest bar, or getting some sun on the beach.
